Learning Objectives

  • Learn and practice common English expressions and continue building vocabulary. Themes include city services and famous places.
  • Introduce present perfect and present perfect progressive tenses.
  • Review all simple tenses.
  • Introduce the first and second conditional.
  • Begin writing complex sentences about short texts.

Teachers’ Notes

The following list is a suggested order for lessons at the intermediate level. These materials are useful for students who are comfortable using the four main English skills at a functional level. Many students will remain at this level for a long time.
