Students read about growth mindset, a popular theory that says talent and intelligence are not fixed. Students practice using adverbs _while_ and _whereas_ to contrast growth and fixed mindsets and discuss strategies for developing a growth mindset.

In this lesson, students read about and discuss decision-making and intuition. This lesson includes practice with verbs and adjectives ending in _-ate_. Students think about how they really know (and feel) when something is a good idea.
