Your aging parent wants to keep driving.

Preview

Your aging parent values their independence and wants to keep driving even though their memory is slipping. They drive to get groceries, see friends, and go to health appointments.

A family friend works at the driver's license office and helps your parent pass the renewal test for seniors even though you both know they are unfit to drive anymore.

What do you do?

Take the keys away. It is unsafe for your parent to drive and an accident is inevitable.
Turn a blind eye. Without a license, your aging parent would become extremely dependent and may even age more quickly.
