In this lesson, students go over the basic rules for subject–verb agreement with singular, plural, and non-count nouns. This lesson also reviews many common exceptions.

Subject–Verb Agreement

In this lesson, students learn the basic parts of a simple sentence. They practice finding the subject and verb. They also review the main parts of speech in English and practice writing their own simple sentences.

How to Write a Simple Sentence

In this lesson, students read emails commonly sent by businesses. The readings include a customer apology, a schedule change, and an advertisement. An assessment task about an appointment reminder is included.

Work Emails

Students will learn and practice five types of pronouns through various grammar, writing, and speaking tasks. This lesson covers reflexive pronouns, indefinite pronouns, demonstrative adjectives, demonstrative pronouns, and relative pronouns. Students will also get the chance to review other types of pronouns. The basic pronoun types are covered in Pronouns 1.

In this lesson, students read a short biography about Marta Vieira da Silva, a legendary Brazilian soccer player. Students learn new vocabulary and practice using reflexive pronouns.

Adverbs of Manner

In this resource, students read posters about workplace safety and learn useful vocabulary. The readings cover safe lifting, protective equipment, and safety around chemicals. An assessment task about ladder safety is included.



Workplace Safety

In this lesson, students learn to reproduce the diphthong /oy/ (as in “boy”). They practice writing and producing the sound through various tasks and compare /oy/ and /e/ (long A). Includes a pronunciation diagram and audio.
