Grades 6–12

In this lesson, students read a few short paragraphs about what Americans like to do on Independence Day. They review vocabulary using a variety of tasks and practice asking and answering questions. This lesson includes a pair activity that reviews count and non-count food nouns.

[Note: Our beginner-level Independence Day (July 4) and Canada Day (July 1) lessons have similar readings, tasks, and vocabulary. We do not recommend teaching both lessons to the same group of students.]
