Christopher Columbus is a very controversial figure in history. In fact, many states now celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day on the second Monday of October instead of Columbus Day. In this lesson, students learn about Columbus's arrival in the Americas and the affect this had on Indigenous Peoples and their lands.
