Get your students talking using these simple open-ended This or That? questions.

You can do this speaking activity as a group, or assign questions for homework or pair practice.

The sets are divided into nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Each set has 12 prompts with one question:

Which do you prefer, and why?

Examples:
Cats or dogs?
Fly or drive?
Cold or hot?

Depending on the level of your students, these prompts may lead to quick responses or lengthy discussions. Let your students take the lead! For example, they may decide to focus on cold or hot weather, beverages, etc.
